Check out our dining room!

Now lets give you a sneak peak into our dining room! What do you think? I really like the dining room and it is one of the favorite rooms in the house. Beige and black really looks elegant and stylish!

Check out our living room!

This is our living room for when we have guests come over. We are thinking of changing the plum brown wall to a silver colour and maybe removing the boxes on the wall.

Have a look!

PRODUCT of the month- Adhesive Blackboard Roll

I recently bought an adhesive blackboard roll from Officeworks and really love it!

This I will be defiantly using when I get pregnant for my pregnancy tracker!!

Check out my FIRST video review below!!

"My review on the wall stickable / adhesive blackboard / chalkboard that I bought from Officeworks for $6.10.

You can use liquid chalk or normal chalk, I prefer normal chalk.

I put this up on my Dulux Shimmer wall around 1 month ago and have used it numerous times since. It has not once un-peeled from the wall!

To remove the chalk from the blackboard it is easy with just a damp towel and no marks remain.

PREGNANCY TRACKER IDEA!!
You could use this for a pregnancy tracker, an idea is to find a big photo frame and just place this on the glass and ta-da, you have an instant portable blackboard!"

Other idea for your blackboard!!!

^ You can make a love heart if you wish!!

How much weight will I gain during Pregnancy?

Apparently you can gain from 10 to 20kgs during pregnancy. I know, crazy hey!
I’d be happy if I only gain 10kgs, but I would need to be eating properly and exercising throughout the pregnancy.

First I need to lose weight and then but it back on through pregnancy.

Oh well, at least I won’t be 94kgs +10kgs= 104kg! That would send me to a mental breakdown seeing myself in the triple digits.

Have a look at this video:

The weight you gain is made up of approximately:

  • Baby weighs about 3.3kg (7.3lb).
  • Placenta weighs 0.7kg (1.5lb).
  • Amniotic fluid weighs 0.8kg (1.8lb).
  • The muscle layer of your uterus (womb) grows dramatically, and weighs an extra 0.9kg (2lb).
  • Blood weighs an extra 1.2kg (2.6lb).
  • Extra fluid in your body, weighing about 1.2kg (2.6lb).
  • Bigger breasts weigh an extra 0.4kg (0.9lb).
  • Store fat, about 4kg (8.8lb)
So the average weight gain is 12.5kgs, and you should lose around 5kgs on the birth of your child.

BMI and gaining baby weight!

Your body mass index (BMI) measures your weight in relation to your height. It's an accurate way of telling whether or not your weight is in the healthy range. The amount of weight that you should put on in pregnancy depends on what your BMI was before you were pregnant.
  • 11.5 to 18kgs if you were a healthy weight before pregnancy, with a BMI of 18.5-24.9.
  • 13 to18kgs if you were underweight before pregnancy with a BMI of less than 18.5.
  • 7 to 11.5kgs if you were overweight before pregnancy with a BMI of 25-29.9.
  • 5 to 9kgs if you were obese before pregnancy with a BMI of over 30.

Carrying a lot of extra weight at the start of pregnancy can increase your risk of complications during your pregnancy and
labour, and make you more likely to have:

  • high blood pressure
  • gestational diabetes
  • a big baby (macrosomia)
  • a caesarean

Eat a healthy, balanced diet. Women are recommended to have about 2,000 calories a day. You don't need any more than that until the last three months of your pregnancy, when you'll need an extra 200 calories a day.

Pre-Pregnancy Blood Test

OMG I did it! Seriously this was something I had been delaying for around 11 years now!

8:30am woke up later then usually and couldn't eat any food. Just drank 1 lemon and 500ml warm water, and another 500ml water.

10:00am- we arrived at the pathology (blood test collection centre).
I tell the ladies I need a butterfly needle and im scared of the needles. I faint as well and only want a good person. They said you will be okay and the lady admitted me straight away.

  • I wanted to lay down but she said its better to be sitting as blood flows better.
  • She said she didn't have a butterfly needle, so got me a normal needle.
  • She strapped my upper arm and told me to squeeze a ball.
  • I only have one vein on my left arm which is good. No vein showing in my right arm.
  • I smelled the alcohol and then just laid back on the chair waiting for the prick
  • She pricked me and i staid still. Its discomfort but not too bad surprisingly. This Debbie lady was really good!
  • Then after 2 vials it was over. Hubby said less than a minute.
  • That's when I started to get white and daze out.  I went all faint and was giving water, Also was told to lay down on my right side whilst the lady fanned me down. Then i sat up and got more water and then again i fell faint and laid down and fanned. The laying down and getting fanned really helped!

Then went to mums place to eat brekky :)

Now need to get an appointment with the doctors and check out my results!

UPDATE- I booked in with the Dr on 2 May to see my results !!
Bad news, had to get the Measles Mumps Rubella vaccine and a low on Vitamin D :(

Doctor’s visit - Pap Smear and discussion

Appointment at 2:30pm and I got to see the doctor at 3:50pm. Seriously I really hate this waiting thing...

Today I visited the doctors, yes the Pap Smear was done! I always laugh when getting it done, hurts a bit as you contract but oh well. I just cant help myself from NOT laughing!

I had a brief conversation about falling pregnant. Here are a few question and answers:

Q- How many blood tests I would need -
A-3 in total on average if you don't have problems. One when you get pregnant, one around 25 weeks I think and one around 35 weeks I think

Q- Should I get a blood test before?
A- Yes, so I can make sure everything is okay before getting pregnant. You may need a booster for chicken pox, rubella, whooping cough before you get pregnant.

Q- Should I loose weight? Im 176cm and around 93kg.
A- Yes, you are at BMI 30. Try get to BMI 25- which is 80kg.

Q- I had pain in my first period off the pill and i was worried about ovarian cysts?
A- If its not hurting now, you should be fine. If it returns we will then check it with an ultrasound.

Q- What should I do to minimise the pain of the needle? Should I get the numbing cream?
A- Numbing cream doesn't really work but you can try. Just make sure you drink plenty of water as it will be easier and faster to extract the blood.

Now I need to get the nerve to go and actually do the blood test! Wahhhhhhhhhhhh!

Anyone else do a papsmear or bloodtest before falling pregnant?

Needle Phobia! How to get over blood tests and needles whilst pregnant?

I freak out, feel like I'm getting a panic attack, heart pounding, want to faint all in one! It is the worst fear thus the reason I haven't had a blood test for 11 years now!

Even researching this is making me faint hearted and I've had to look away and calm done. AND I'M ONLY READING INFORMATION, no pictures! Oh god this is bad!

The phobia started...
When I was little, approx in preschool or grade 1. I remember this as we were leaving in our old house when I went through it. "IT" is numerous blood tests where the nurses would twist trying to get my blood out. I remember dad yelling at the ladies to stop and then fainting. I still can feel it in my left arm the tingling and jerking sensation. These tests were for the ear and nose surgery I was going in for.

My last blood test was with a baby needle and I was lying down. I think it went okay and I just remember waiting for the lady to stop draining blood from me. Those 3 vials took hours it seemed! Its been 11 years thus the phobia still prevailed!

Why do I want a blood test before getting pregnant?
On Wednesday I'm going to the doctors and am considering asking her to let me get a blood test... Why? I want to make sure I have everything okay with me, plus I have time to fix myself up before getting pregnant to ensure my baby is healthy. I know I will need maybe another 2 during pregnancy but oh well.

Treatments...
1. Numbing gel? EMLA cream - (UPDATE: My doctor says apparently it doesn't work that great. Don't really want to waste $70 on 30mg)
2. Relax and focus on breating....yea right! But i'll try. Don't be tense!
3. Dont watch...duh!
4. Distract yourself... singing or watching something.. Okay if you insist but im no Beyonce! lol
5. Get a blood pressure cuff instead of the rubber band thingy.... will give this a go!
6. Be comfortable, lay down!.... yes I will be don't you worry!!
7. Drink water and eat food as it will show your veins more!....good tip! Must try!
8. Have a warm cloth placed on your veins, as blood flows quicker...
9. Get the baby or butterfly needle!
Be positive.... 'This will make me better', 'I'm much bigger and better than this - I can do it!' Which would you rather have; an incurable disease, or a 5 second shot?
IT's FOR THE BABY!

As for needles in the mouth from the dentist!
- best thing I ever heard from my dentist when i was young was to breath through my nose. If you breath through your mouth whilst the needle is going in it will hurt more due to the vibrations of your breath!!! I actually am okay with taking needles in my mouth now.Even had 3 teeth pulled out!! Yet am scared of a blood test!!

I DID it 19.04.2014 > read about it ... Pre-Pregnancy Blood Test
MMR Vaccine done  Read about it here ...MMR Injection :(

Heatless, No Heat Voluminous Victoria Secret Curls!!

I love curly hair but just hate having to use a curling iron as on many occasions I burn myself, yes even with a glove on!

Also, I just don't have the time to curl my hair!!!

Thus i can imagine when I have a baby I wont have any time spare but still want to look pretty.

I've tried the headband method and it turned out great, the curls were a bit tight. Thus I will be taking bigger pieces and wrapping around to get bigger curls.. So easy!! Cant wait to try the sock bun!!!!

Acne- I Hope I don’t get Cystic Acne again!

Last time I was off the pill I got Cystic Acne.  To battle this, I was using natural remedies, like garlic, olive oil, chamomile to pharmaceuticals such as Benzac 5 and 10%. I even got Glycolic Peels done and it kind of helped, but I am now left with skin discolouration, scars and pits all over my face. Over the years it has slowly healed, however I notice them.

I don’t wish Cystic Acne on anyone!
NORMAL SKIN                                                            CYSTIC ACNE

Currently my face is pretty good. I do get a pimple every few weeks, typically around my period. Every day I use Olay Thermal Skin Polisher ($20 from Woolworths), which helps get the gunk off my face, including foundation makeup. I love the warm sensation it gives me when I mix it with water.

So far whilst off the pill I have had minimal pimples, even during my recent periods. I have been a bit more diligent with my face washing and trying not to touch my face, to avoid bacteria popping up.

Also have started using Biore Triple Action Toner and Biore Moisturiser, around $10 each at Woolworthes. Hopefully this will help a bit more with the recent pimples I've been getting from not getting my second period yet.. Pimples starting all around the hairline and they are big and annoying!!

My foundation makeup by NARS SHEER GLOW ($68 from Mecca Cosmetica CBD) is also wonderful as it has anti-bacterial elements which help repair the skin. I’m the Santa Fe colour. Sheer Glow's silky fluid delivers immediate hydration, evens skin tone and leaves the skin brighter and more radiant. Used daily, your skin's texture and tone improves becoming softer, smoother and more luminous. Sheer Glow Foundation provides all-day weightless and buildable coverage, with a natural radiant finish. For Normal to Dry Skin.

It contains powerful anti-oxidants to protect skin from free radicals and turmeric extracts to improve skin's radiance and tone, which I have definitely felt!

Treatments for scarring I’m looking into eventually getting done once I save up enough money (many more years sadly!):

Dermal Rolling is the perfect treatment for you! Dermal Rolling stimulates collagen and elastin fibres in the skin to help diminish the signs of acne scarring and pitting.
If you're looking for a permanent acne scar treatment, plump and firm your skin with IPL. There is no better acne scar treatment!

Anyone else suffered from Cystic Acne and how did you deal with it?

Do you also use NARS Sheer Foundation range? What are your thoughts?

Have you tried Olay Thermal Skin Polisher or the Biore products and what did you think of them?

Oh Crepitus!

My ankles and knees crack/pop (whatever you want to call it!) Mainly when I jog/run, move my ankle up and down and when I walk in heels. I used to do long distance running, skipping, soccer, gymnastics and taekwondo when I was younger over a long period of years.

I've had this problem for years, but recently its become very annoying as at work its fairly quite and people can here me coming!

I tried taking magnesium and calcium tablets and I can't feel any changes.

For now I'm back to wearing flats until I can figure this problem out and "if" there is a remedy.
I googled "ankle cracking" and found a post which was similar to the issues I had.... so I also found an answer!!!!

I may have crepitus!

According to zocdoc crepitus is:
So, now I googled "treatment ankle crepitus"

Glucosamine is good but is not recommended for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

"The sounds you are hearing are called crepitus. Crepitus is related to slightly uneven cartilage surfaces in the affected joints (ankles and knees in your case) rubbing on each other when you move the joints back and forth. Crepitus is often a sign of aging joints and arthritis but it can also occur in relatively young people without these problems. The main thing is to determine if you have any pain when moving the joints when this occurs or if there is any stiffness or resistance to movement of the affected joints. Other concerning symptoms would including a sudden feeling that the joint "gives way" or any weakness or instability when walking or exercising. If you experience any of these symptoms, then you should talk to your primary care doctor, who can perform a physical examination to determine if there is any evidence of arthritis or another joint condition. In the absence of any concerning symptoms, however, you should not be overly concerned by the noise, other than to take the usual precautions to exercise carefully, wear sensible supportive shoes, and avoid injury through wearing appropriate protective equipment for sports and other physical activities. If you have any further questions, feel free to discuss them with your primary care doctor."

--- Still checking what else is good for this--- Any ideas would be great!!!??

Second period- Why you not come??

 3 April 2014- Still no period, I should've gotten it 30 March.

Today have been feeling a bit "meh" and craving chocolate. Pimples have started around 4 days ago, especially around the hair line. I wonder if anyone else has had a "period" and then the periods stopped or was delayed after going off the pill?

UPDATE: got period 6 April 2014!!!
